How do you feel about stem cell research?

Are you asking yourself about whether or not you should make contact with the local cord blood bank?

The notion of cord blood banking has noticed much improved acceptance in the past several years. Right now people are seriously considering bank their infant’s cord blood. In past times, the umbilical cord used to be thrown away after the child was finally delivered, however with growing awareness of how valuable the blood of the umbilical cord is, the doctors have finally started to store the blood of the umbilical cord in cord blood banks.

After a great deal of medical research has been carried out on what can be done with the umbilical cord researchers have observed that it is very helpful to store the umbilical cord in a cord blood bank. The blood from the umbilical cord is extremely valuable in treating varied diseases associated with the immune system and also other blood related disorders which people suffer from. Till the mid 1990s the umbilical blood was never stored in a cord blood bank; But after the mid 1990s medical professionals have began to recognize the magnitude of umbilical blood and are now spreading knowledge of the need for storing umbilical blood in a cord blood bank.

The developing importance of the Cord blood bank

The basic reason why people are now researching using a cord blood bank is due to the fact that the umbilical blood is considered to be so precious. This is due to the fact that it includes high amount of hematopoietic stem cells and can be stored in the cord blood banks safely for years. The importance of having a large amount of hematopoietic stem cells is that this precise type of blood is capable of generating new white blood cells and red blood cells. The hypothesis behind the use of cord blood is similar to that of bone marrow transplants which have been in practice for a long time. However unlike the bone marrow which needed to be a perfect match with the recipient, the utilization of the umbilical blood does not call for such a perfect match.

There are much increased options for treating an ailment with the use of umbilical blood than there are with the bone marrow transplants since the likelihood of someones body rejecting the umbilical blood are much less in comparison to his odds of rejecting the bone marrow.

The ongoing stem cell research shows that there are roughly 70 diseases that can be cured with the use of the umbilical cord blood. It is for this reason that an increasing number of people are beginning to gather their baby’s umbilical cord blood in a local cord blood bank. The cord blood is not only usable by the child whose umbilical cord blood is kept, but this blood can also be employed by the family members of the children as well. The use of umbilical blood is of high importance due to the fact that research proves that the use of the umbilical blood can assist in curing cancer, damaged internal organs and even blood disorders, which is one of the main reasons why a great deal of people are opting to avail yourself of a cord blood bank service.

If you need to get your baby’s umbilical blood stored will want to select a cord blood bank prior to the birth of your child because not every hospital is equipped collect and convey the umbilical blood to the cord blood bank. So you would need to decide the cord blood bank and inform your doctor about 2 months in advance so that you can simplify the procedure of documentation and preparation for the collection and storage of your baby’s umbilical cord blood to the cord blood bank.

Littlemswright asked:

Considering we have access to abundant supply sources that have nothing to do with aborted fetuses -

After Birth Materials Available-
Cord blood
amniotic fluid
placenta material

Adult Materials Available-
Bone marrow
Blood
Menstrual blood
Skin
Teeth

Do you think we should advance the research?

I’m curious about it’s content. Can you try again?

Don’t forget about all the spare fat America has. When you consider all the sources for it out there then there is no reason for Embryonic Stem Cells to be used. That just creates controversy that can be avoided.

Yes, I think we should go with amniotic stem cell research. But not embryonic.]

Amniotic stem cell research, pretty much protects fetuses from being tested on

I THINK WE SHOULD ABORT, ABORT HOMOSEXUALS(POST-ABORTION). But you must burn the bodies in order to kill the infections that they have in their souls/tissue.

Embryonic stem cell research was never illegal. What the Bush administration opposed was federal funding for it.

So to answer your question, as written, yes, I support the research. But not federally funded. Grants and federal funding tend to delay research. People become dependent on the money, which they lose when the objective is achieved. Private funding generally results in more efficient research.

Having had adult stem cell treatment I FULLY support it and think it need more research and can make more advancements.

However, I do NOT think that discounts the need to research and advance embryonic stem cells, especially with what I know about the limited current ability of adult stem cells.

BTW, embryonic stem cells do NOT come from aborted fetuses. By the time an abortion happens its too late for embryonic stem cells. The stem cells come from embryos that are trashed in IVF clinics…. embryos that are dead with or without the stem cell research as a result of a proceedure that is socially acceptable and legal.
